Adventures

The key to my successful relationship thus far is adventure. Finding something to keep us going. Tim is gone every weekend February through November except for a few weekends throughout that time. So when he is home we try to spend time together if my schedule allows it.

Back in March for Easter he surprised me and took me to Myrtle Beach for a couple nights. It was unexpected, but much appreciated. Just getting out of our home for a couple nights and refreshing at the beach was what we needed. Sure it was a rainy day but that didn't matter. What mattered is that we were together and that we were seeing new sights together.

Flash forward to April and I took a day off work and went with him to Bristol for a day of fast cars and gasoline.

While not every month we get to go on an adventure we have made it  a priority to have a date night every week. Sometimes its a dinner, its a board game, or its breakfast. Whatever time allows is what we end up doing. It is essential for a healthy relationship to spend time together. Not working, watching television, or trying to squeeze in one another. You need to make your relationship a priority and for everyone thats different.

I look forward to the amount of adventures we are still going to experience. We are only months into our marriage. I hope we have a lifetime of adventures and date nights. As for the near future we have a date night planned for next weekend where I requested a night off to got to the All-Star Race in Charlotte. Yes, I am making my husband take me on a date to a race (to be fair, he won't be working).

Stay tuned for the next post. Its going to be about fighting (we all do it, don't lie)!!!!
