Summer with family

Sorry I've been MIA for a couple weeks a lot has happened in that time.  I have quit my job at the airport, and I have gotten a job at a Harris Teeter as the Starbucks Lead only 5 minutes from home. It was a sudden decision to quit the airport but it was a decision I made for the benefit of my family. The airport was causing Tim and I to never see one another and as newlyweds that will definitely start to affect your marriage, so I took matters into my own hands and therefor did what I believed was best for he and I.

Right around the time I decided to quit the airport I was actually heading to California for a visit with our families. I hadn't been back since the wedding and it was a much needed trip to celebrate our niece's 1st birthday as well as the birth of my best friend's baby. In my opinion two amazing reasons to go on a trip to the West Coast.

Isn't our niece Kaycee absolutely adorable at her birthday party.

My sister Aly and her boyfriend Tim (yes same name as my husband, weird right?) threw a wonderful birthday for their daughter. So many friends and family came to celebrate and see one another it was a wonderful day.

See what I'm saying this birthday party really came together and was magical. Much more than I could have imagined.

I also got to spend some time with my brothers and my family which was wonderful. My brothers are enjoying their summer of doing nothing and plying video games all day which is what every kid wants to do, but I think my visit helped break up the every day boring summer.
My brother Jackson, sister Aly, me, my mom, my brother Colton, and my niece Kaycee.

It was tough to be there spending some time with them and getting used to it, and then having to leave to come back to North Carolina again. But I realized something. North Carolina is home to me now. California is a great place to visit but I love that North Carolina really does feel like home now. I was anxious to get home and begin my job and see Tim, we had been apart for 10 days before we got to see one another again.

Tim and I are now trying to figure out our life together with me working a more steady job with steady hours. Its crazy how once you have time to spend with your loved ones you don't know what to do with that time. I am sure we will come up with something. I know that I want to get out and enjoy the beautiful lake we live on, I want to cook dinner for friends, I want to go out with friends, I want to make some friends in general. So hey if you live in North Carolina near the Charlotte area let me know!

Stay tuned in a couple days I have an interview coming with my mother in law about the secrets (hers at least) to a happy marriage.
